- The program COUNT does exactly what you want. It performs
- multiple regression for a number of distributions (poisson,
- negative binomial, generalized event count, hurdle poisson, &
- others) using maximum likelihood estimation.
-
- I'm not sure how COUNT is formally distributed. It can be
- obtained either from Aptech Systems (somewhere in Washington
- state) or from Prof Gary King at Harvard University. It is free
- of charge (although there may be some P&H fee). Gary King's email
- address is gmk@isr.harvard.edu.
-
- I am currently upgrading COUNT and would be interested in
- suggestions for any additional distributions to include. As the
- program's name implies, these distributions should be appropriate
- for either event count or duration data.
