  25.     The program COUNT does exactly what you want.  It performs
  26.     multiple regression for a number of distributions (poisson,
  27.     negative binomial, generalized event count, hurdle poisson, &
  28.     others) using maximum likelihood estimation.
  29.  
  30.     I'm not sure how COUNT is formally distributed.  It can be
  31.     obtained either from Aptech Systems (somewhere in Washington
  32.     state) or from Prof Gary King at Harvard University.  It is free
  33.     of charge (although there may be some P&H fee).  Gary King's email
  34.     address is gmk@isr.harvard.edu.

  36.     I am currently upgrading COUNT and would be interested in
  37.     suggestions for any additional distributions to include.  As the
  38.     program's name implies, these distributions should be appropriate
  39.     for either event count or duration data.
