  15. One circumstance  in which it may be worth using EPS as a transfer
  16. format to other software, even though you can't preview the graphics
  17. on the screen, is were you wish to precisely control color or shading.
  18. Examples would be with a shaded map, or a gradient fill background.
  19. SAS allows pretty good control over color when you are writing to a
  20. PostScript device, and the EPS file carries that through to your final
  21. page. The new 600 dpi (and higher) laser printers should allow for
  22. pretty fine shading distinctions.
