  13. The content of Poland-L includes discussions about current polish, european,
  14. and north american politics.  But the discussions aren╪t limited to only that
  15. topics.  In fact we have been talking (in Polish of course, and maybe
  16. occcasionally in English) about everything from poetry to feminism, academia,
  17. etc, etc (sounds like psycgrad, doesn╪t it?).  The majority of participants are
  18. males, most of them matematicians, physicists, computer scientists.  Maybe only
  19. three women are continually active.  The discussions get quite heated at times,
  20. and flames fly (must be the slavic hot blood...) and believe me, the list
  21. doesn╪t have such a great moderator as Matthew to step in and tell people
  22. to cool it a bit.  Nonetheless, I think it is a worth while list for someone,
  23. who wants to keep up to date with Polish language and culture and to somone
  24. who is learning the language.  The majority of subsribers are from North
  25. America, but some are also from France, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, UK, and
  26. Poland.  She should expect a great deal of mail each day (sometimes 80 messages
  27. ...)
