- I totally agree with Rick's sentiments regarding the censorship of porn
- (ie, censorship is bad for everyone). I would like to talk about equal
- treatment, however. In the context of censorship: When I was at U of MN
- there was a big battle over whether Playboy etc. should be sold in the
- commons candy/ magazine shops. The "against" people didn't want porn
- being sold at all (censorship), and the "for" people just wanted to buy
- their 'zines without having to go downtown. Nobody ever suggested it but
- I think that equal numbers of 'zines objectifying men should be sold to
- offset the numbers of 'zines objectifying women. Objectifying the opp-
- osite gender is definitely NOT something that should be promoted, but there
- is something to be said for equal representation.
