- Sorry about my rather cryptic reply which was intended for Paul caron only but
- ended up on the net. It was all about some Windows applications that would not
- stay on the desktop where I put them while maintaining the size I gave them
- (playing God on my own desktop). Paul suggested a utility called sizer110 on
- Simtel and I am happy to say it works well . . . finally I am in control again
- (well, almost, I still cannot make WP for Windows start up in a small Window).
- I do find it astonishing that products made by Microsoft themselves display
- this disturbing behaviour (Word, Excel).
-
- Some slightly disturbing news I just read on medtextl: WP is apparently
- working on an SGML parser. If anyone should be working on it it should be
- NotaBene. Does anyone know if they are?
-
- Another bit of news for Tact enthusiasts, a friend just back from a conference
- on Chaucer and computing in Canada attended a demonstration of version 2,
- which is up and running although not quite ready for distribution yet. Tact,
- by the way, is an excellent full-text retrieval packages, developed at the
- University of Toronto, and absolutely free (it is a lot like WordCruncher, but
- much more versatile).
