- I've had no problems yet with using EMS for the dictionary and using
- Ibid. at the same time. It should be noted, though, that I am using
- NB under OS/2 rather than DOS, and OS/2's memory management is much
- more stable than anything provided by a DOS memory manager (even QEMM
- or 386^Max).
-
- On another note, I'd like to encourage patience on the part of those
- waiting for service calls from NBI. After mailing several thousand
- packages with the admittedly minimal documentation, they have been
- snowed with service calls (as we might have expected). They are not
- ignoring them, however--day before yesterday I had occasion do be in
- the NBI offices and stayed on discussing a project I'm working on with
- one of the programmers there. Quitting time came and went--when I
- left at 6:00 PM there were still three operators on the phones doing
- customer support (one of them the redoubtable Rebecca). The chief
- programmer is making support calls himself, as is the illustrious
- Steve S. For such a small operation, they are making a concerted
- effort to respond to all service calls--unfortunately this is
- sometimes going to take time.
-
- For those of you preparing to leave for San Francisco and the AAR/SBL
- convention (as I am) you will be happy to hear that Steve and Deborah
- will again be there. They did not reserve a booth because of the
- uncertainties involved in getting NB4/Lingua out the door, but they
- are sharing with a friend. Take the chance to drop by and schmooze!
- Also remember our Sunday afternoon meeting at the CARG room, courtesy
- of Robin Cover's generous hospitality.
-
- I apologize in advance if anybody sends me a message and I don't
- respond--I have set NOTABENE to NOMAIL and won't be checking my
- mailbox until December 4 after I log off this afternoon. "See" you
- then!
