- I'm using the cheaper ATI VGA Basic-16, but I suspect the solution is
- the same. I called ATI about getting a new driver for Windows 3.1, and
- spoke with a technician there. In passing, he said that you need to
- exclude video memory C000-C7FF from QEMM or other memory manager. He
- didn't think you need to exclude anything in the A000-BFFF range,
- although I already had excluded that entire range for other reasons
- that I no longer recall.
-
- At any rate, that should keep QEMM from messing with your video.
-
- The answer to my question about the video driver is that the ATI BBS
- at 416-756-4591 has a file WIN31VGA.ZIP with the new driver (and some
- skimpy installation instructions) for Windows 3.1, for those who
- bought their ATI card before Windows 3.1 release in June or so.
- The file is dated July 1992, and will work with all the VGA Wonder
- cards too. It's 232505 bytes. I haven't seen it on WUARCHIVE yet.
