- It is heartening to see the responses that ALA should
- make responses to Amendment 2 in Colorado. While it is too
- late to move the midwinter meeting, there are many other ways
- of expressing displeasure, and I understand the Gay and
- Lesbian Task force of the Social Responsibilities Roundtable
- is hard at work on options.
- In my opinion, infringements on the rights of one
- group affect all by setting a precedent reducing freedom.
- Thus it is an issue that affects all, especially as it seems
- likely that similar amendment drives will be organized in
- other states.
- As a bisexual librarian, I'd like to ask that
- bisexuals be remembered and mentioned in the discussion, as
- the amendment in Colorado did specifically mention gays,
- lesbians, and bisexuals. GLB is almost as easy to type as
- g/l. 8-).
