- I remember when, in the "Graduating Class" meeting about a month
- before I finished Library School, the Dean of the "GSLIS" announced
- that we would all be receiving a "Master of Librarianship" degree -
- there were audible gasps from several corners of the room, quickly
- followed by comments like "After two years of this, we deserve
- AT LEAST a Master's in Library SCIENCE!" Hmmm.

- I sincerely hope that at least in OUR profession there is a tendency
- to look at the quality of a person's work/knowledge rather than the
- name on the sheepskin on the wall...
