- Hats off to you for raising an important subject! Not to do a "hat dance",
- but what people wear on their head is not as important as what is inside.
- If the hat does not have a political symbol/message etc., which might be
- taken to mean the library supports or condons that political symbol, or
- might be construed that the worker is using his/her position to promote or
- foster that political message, then unless it is dangerous, don't worry about
- it.
- If it really bugs you, then think about the cost of supplying a uniform
- hat, and insisting that all employees wear one. The cure can be more expensive
- than the problem.
- As a hat wearer for many years, I would not fdream of wearing one at
- work except for Halloween dress up at the Reference Desk. I have a
- South Sea head piece topped with the skull of some kind of large rodent.
- The staff call it my "Internet hat".
