- I invested some time a while back looking at the JES2 external
- writer as a way to drive our Xerox laser printer. I turned up
- the following documentation (note: we run MVS/ESA 3.1.3 /
- JES2 3.1.1):
- *
- * DLIB FOR ALL COMPONENT MODULES OF THE IBM EXTERNAL WRITER IS
- * SYS1.AOSB0. TLIB IS SYS1.LINKLIB.
- *
- * PROGRAMMING REFERENCES:
- *
- * MVS/ESA SPL: SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS, GC28-1831, CH. 14
- *
- * MVS/ESA JES2 LOGIC, LY28-1006, ESP. APPENDIX B
- *
- If you still have your JES2 Program Directory sitting around, it
- will show that the source code for all the external writer modules
- is available on one of the source feature option tapes for JES2.
- I tried to order this tape through our IBM branch, but after their
- third failure to deliver the correct tape I gave up. Apparently
- you have to reorder the entire JES2 product just to get this one
- source tape. Since IBM refuses to include MVS in the HESC list
- its future here is shaky in any case.
