  11. In the process of expanding DFHSM's Migration Control Data Set (MCDS),
  12. I have been reviewing the SETSYS MONITOR control parm which we have
  13. incorporated into the HSM initialization deck.  This parm causes
  14. DFHSM to send informational messages to the system console.  We
  15. currently use
  16.                 SETSYS MONITOR(MCDS(100,20))
  17. to direct DFHSM to generate WTOs to the system console when the 20th
  18. extent of the MCDS (which is a VSAM data set) is 100% full.  The MONITOR
  19. control parameter has another optional parm called, NEWCOPY, which is
  20. briefly mentioned on page 300 of the System Programmer's Command
  21. Reference for release 2.6.  Does anyone know what this parm is and when
  22. it is appropriate to use it?  The command reference is too vague on this
  23. matter.

  25. Also, the System Programmer's Command Reference indicates that
  26. when used, NEWCOPY updates the DFHSM Multiple-Processing-Unit Control
  27. Record.  I can find no reference of such a record in the DFHSM
  28. Diagnosis Reference for Data Areas and Control Blocks manual.  There is
  29. however, a reference to a Multiple-Host Processor Control Record which
  30. contains space usage data about the various control data sets, but I
  31. receive a DFHSM error message when I attempt to display this record.
