  16.         I was told by an education professor that difficulties with spelling
  17. and dislexia are related.  My problem isn't just a few troublesome words--but I
  18. have always had trouble because I can't tell if a word "looks" right.  I can
  19. write a troublesome word 3 of 4 ways and they all look equally right.  [I used
  20. to try this approach on papers and during tests--on the assumption that I would
  21. luck out at least once in the course of the test.]  I also have trouble with
  22. numbers, usually the last 2 digits will switch places when I look away--it's
  23. just like them.
  24.         I thank the gods for the gift of spellcheck, and just wish I had known
  25. when I was younger that it was a wiring problem and not stupidity that made me
  26. one of the first out on every spelling bee.
