- Subject: A new LCD panel
- Lines: 28
-
- Listreaders who are interested in image projection,
- Have any of you seen or tested the new LCD projection pad from Sharp?
- The QA-1150 is a new high brightness LCD panel with built-in video
- support, front or rear projection capability, and 185,000 colors.
- The beauty of it, from my perspective, is the claim that accept
-
- Mac II RGB, MCGA, VGA, and CGA or EGA with extra cables. In short it
- hooks to VCRs, laserdisc players, Macs, PS/2s, XTs, ATs, and most
- compatibles. No extra converter boxes, even a remote control unit.
- If any of you have tested this unit please forward your impressions
- to me. We currently used the In/Focus LCD pads that are out on the
- market with fewer colors and in some cases, poor results. I'm not
- selling for Sharp, I get no kick-backs etc., but I've been impressed
- by the details. We'll receive a unit to test in the next two weeks.
- The price quoted (not retail) was $4,000. While not cheap this is much
- better than buying a video projector and RGB converter if you also
- consider how much better the picture quality is (or could be) with an
- LCD.
-
- Thanks.
