  44. today announced DECvoiceBuilder V1.1 for OpenVMS application
  45. development software for Digital's DECvoice voice response system.
  46. DECvoiceBuilder software is an enhanced voice application generator
  47. featuring the DECwindows/Motif intuitive graphical user interface
  48. (GUI) for its multiline DECvoice platform.  Digital showcased the
  49. DECvoiceBuilder system here at the Voice '92 exposition.
  50.      Diane Knight, Marketing Manager for DECvoiceBuilder software,
  51. stated, "DECvoiceBuilder software now provides a simple, powerful
  52. way for users to develop voice response applications.  It offers our
  53. customers a truly flexible, investment enhancing voice application
  54. system.  In addition, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can
  55. now use DECvoiceBuilder software in their own applications to
  56. provide their customers with a complete, integrated voice response
  57. system."

  59. DECvoiceBuilder V1.1 software enhancements include:

  61.     o  FAX support - Voice applications can now be developed to FAX
  62.        information, providing automatic data confirmation and
  63.        increased services.

  65.     o  User Code Object - Users can now write a function or
  66.        subroutine using DECvoiceBuilder software and then call it
  67.        via an object to  speed and simplify application development.

  74.        application flow that can then be deleted, copied to another
  75.        area, or later retrieved, thus reducing the time to develop
  76.        customized applications.

  79.        keys, users can now pause, resume, position to the start, and
  80.        position to the end during a voice message operation.

  83. FLEXIBLE, POWERFUL VOICE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
  84.      DECvoiceBuilder software combines the three voice technologies
  85. of digitized voice, speech synthesis, and voice recognition on a
  86. single platform.  This level  of compatibility and flexibility
  87. enables users to integrate DECvoiceBuilder applications with their
  88. existing DECvoice applications, thereby protecting their current
  89. investments in software and training.
  90.      DECvoiceBuilder software enables users without expert skills in
  91. computer programming and telephony to build new voice response
  92. applications or modify existing DECvoiceBuilder applications quickly
  93. and easily.  A user merely connects graphical icons on a terminal
  94. screen to produce an application flow.  Each icon represents a
  95. function or step in the application.  The user then records the
  96. necessary voice segments using either a telephone, a microphone, or
  97. a professional recorded tape.  The resulting voice application is
  98. automatically generated by DECVoiceBuilder software.
  99.      This new software ensures completeness of the voice application
  100. by providing test functions, which include testing with or without
  101. voice.  In addition, it enables users to monitor deployed
  102. applications quickly and easily by displaying various statistical
  103. and status reports.
  104.      The DECvoiceBuilder product consists of four components -- the
  105. Application Editor, the Recording Studio, the Administrator, and the
  106. Run-Time Library.

  110. DECvoiceBuilder Software is also available in two packages, the
  111. Production Environment package, which includes all four components,
  112. and the Run-Time Environment package, which includes only the
  113. components required to deploy a produced and tested voice
  114. application.
  115.      DECvoiceBuilder software works in the DECwindows Motif
  116. graphical user interface, a superior windowing environment that
  117. makes building voice applications with the GUI fast and easy.  It
  118. cuts development and maintenance costs significantly and allows
  119. problems to be corrected quickly.
  120.      The software also requires DECvoice hardware and software, VAX
  121. C software, VAX OpenVMS operating system, and a VAX computer.  VAX
  122. Rdb relational database software is optional for applications
  123. requiring links into databases.
  124.      DECvoiceBuilder V1.1 Software is available in February 1993
  125. with prices beginning at $6,800.
