- I've just logged onto the KUFACTS CWIS system at Univ. of Kansas, and was
- quite impressed with the intuitive nature of the interface.
-
- It is built on the LYNX software platform. This is homegrown software,
- with a hypertext orientation. Links, point&shoot, whatever you wish to
- call the metaphor. Easy navigation using cursor keys, for text display,
- command execution, transparent interface to Gopher and some other systems,
- etc. It is apparently an evolution of the Univ. of Sasketchewan's
- HYTELNET, which itself evolved from the interface germ of the MS-DOS
- hypertext programs.
-
- How widely known is the LYNX application? I have only recently subscribed
- to CWIS-L, and don't know if it's been the subject of discussion, if it's
- spread to other locations, etc.
-
- I'd appreciate any feedback.
-
- Cheers,
