- Mounting CDROMS with Adaptec SCSI 1540

- Hi,
- I have just found that the correct driver is sold by Adaptec as ASW-410 for
- $59. You can not use ASW-1410 as I thought in the past. Adaptec is comming out
- with a new driver called Easy SCSI (no pricing or upgrade info available.)
- You can get drivers direct from company by calling 1800-442-7274.
- I found all that info and more on their BBS at (408)945-7727. It contains every
- thing but the drivers themselves which I really think should be provied if you
- know how to get them without help(download via BBS). On the BBS they provide a
- procedure for upgrading old drivers by downloading an upgrade program that chec
- ks for them (you may never even have to wait on hold to talk to a tech operator
- who will take your name & put you on a waiting list ...) and then creates the
- new version.
-
- Hope this helps.
-
- Is Adaptec listening. Unless your a developer your going to need a driver so wh
- y is it so bad to assume that you may get one when you shell out the bucks for
- a ard and the retailer tells you its' everything you need.
- The least adaptec could to is educate their resalers and qualify them to sale t
- he product.
