  12.             POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS

  14. Northern Illinois University anticipates a
  15. tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position for
  16. fall, 1993.  A Ph.D and postdoctoral experience are
  17. required.  Each candidate will be expected to
  18. develop a vigorous externally funded research
  19. program, direct graduate (M.S. and Ph.D) students,
  20. and teach introductory courses for majors and non-
  21. majors.

  23. EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST:  The candidate should be
  24. organismally oriented and have research experience
  25. dealing with evolutionary aspects of physiology or
  26. development.  The candidate's research program will
  27. complement the department's current strengths in
  28. evolutionary biology and ecology.  Teaching
  29. obligations will include courses in evolution and
  30. ecology and a course in the candidate's area of
  31. expertise.
