  15. There are a lot of questions to be answered yet, but I agree with Jay 100%.

  17. I can provide the hardware and a UNIX license for start-up purposes.
  18. However we need a funding base before we can do much more than that.

  20. I am but a single person with a single person's salary.  Making this "free"
  21. to Austin is fine, but we need the infrastructure to prevent over taxing
  22. the people working on the project.

  24. We need a plan for paying for the things that we can't get for free.

  26. I have run a multiuser bbs here in Austin for a good number of years.  I
  27. charge a fee for access, in an effort to reduce my losses.  I am currently
  28. bringing in about 50% of what it takes to cover the phone bills.  I would
  29. be willing to move much of what I have going now and make it free for all
  30. users.  However I need to stress that there needs to be a source of funding
  31. to pay for the phone bills.

  33. If we get an internet connection, and some office space, GREAT!  However we
  34. need to get that phone bill covered too.

  36. I am working with some people on another project, one that will include an
  37. internet connection.  However we are talking about a 6 month wait at the
  38. earliest.

  40. Is there anyone working on getting some grants or donations?
