  14.     Not exactly related to homeless, but a way to help those
  15.     who may need a little help:

  17.     Thursday's (11/19) Austin American Statesman Neighborhood
  18.     section had an article about community centers, specifically
  19.     the Clarksville    Community Center (CCC), accepting/needing food 
  20.     donations for Thanksgiving.

  22.     The article basically said they need food donations.

  24.     I called CCC and they can take perishables and of course
  25.     non-perishables. They on 11th St. 476-7877.

  27.     If you want help there are various neighborhood centers listed
  28.     on page 5 of the blue pages in the phone book under Human
  29.     Services/Neighborhood Centers. Also, last year the HOBO 
  30.     (Helping Our Brothers Out) organization was accepting food;
  31.     I'm sure they're doing it again this year.

  33.     With turkeys going so cheap these days (HEB .29/lbs w/ $25
  34.     purchase else .69/lbs - competitors probably comparable),
  35.     it wouldn't take much to help out.
