- Not exactly related to homeless, but a way to help those
- who may need a little help:
-
- Thursday's (11/19) Austin American Statesman Neighborhood
- section had an article about community centers, specifically
- the Clarksville Community Center (CCC), accepting/needing food
- donations for Thanksgiving.
-
- The article basically said they need food donations.
-
- I called CCC and they can take perishables and of course
- non-perishables. They on 11th St. 476-7877.
-
- If you want help there are various neighborhood centers listed
- on page 5 of the blue pages in the phone book under Human
- Services/Neighborhood Centers. Also, last year the HOBO
- (Helping Our Brothers Out) organization was accepting food;
- I'm sure they're doing it again this year.
-
- With turkeys going so cheap these days (HEB .29/lbs w/ $25
- purchase else .69/lbs - competitors probably comparable),
- it wouldn't take much to help out.
