- The University wishes to make two lecturing appointments in
- Journalism. The successful applicants will take up a contract of l -
- 3 year's duration in the Faculty's Division of Communication, Media
- and Tourism early in 1993.

- The appointee to the first position (92/2114) will possess competence
- in electronic journalism, both radio and television, and a particular
- interest in the nature of news. Experience in electronic journalism
- is desirable and possession of a relevant higher degree would be an
- advantage. Given the requirement that the position cover both
- television and radio, this post could be shared between two part-time
- appointees.

- The appointee to the second position (92/2115) will possess competence
- in both print and electronic journalism and have an interest in both
- practical and conceptual issues in journalism. Experience in
- journalism is essential and possession of a relevant higher degree
- would be an advantage.

- Both positions require good communication skills, patience and tact in
- dealing with students and the capacity to work within a team.
