  22. The University wishes to make two lecturing appointments in 
  23. Journalism.  The successful applicants will take up a contract of l - 
  24. 3 year's duration in the Faculty's Division of Communication, Media 
  25. and Tourism early in 1993.  
  26.  
  27. The appointee to the first position (92/2114) will possess competence 
  28. in electronic journalism, both radio and television, and a particular 
  29. interest in the nature of news.  Experience in electronic journalism 
  30. is desirable and possession of a relevant higher degree would be an 
  31. advantage.  Given the requirement that the position cover both 
  32. television and radio, this post could be shared between two part-time 
  33. appointees.

  35. The appointee to the second position (92/2115) will possess competence 
  36. in both print and electronic journalism and have an interest in both 
  37. practical and conceptual issues in journalism.  Experience in 
  38. journalism is essential and possession of a relevant higher degree 
  39. would be an advantage.

  41. Both positions require good communication skills, patience and tact in 
  42. dealing with students and the capacity to work within a team.
