- Dunno about that. How about all those mega-dollar valve amps, not to mention
- all the analogue hard liners on rec.audio.
-
- I think they go heavily for whatever is v. expensive :-)

- The upper end shops in Melbourne are starting to flog AV gear, Revolver Hi Fi
- in adelaide was pushing Yamaha stuff a few years back, and Len Wallis in Sydney
- has been for yonks.

- Unlike aussie academics, who buy relaible (!) british cars with real bits
- of tree stuck to the dashboard (sorry Scott, couldn't resist)

- Yeah, me too. In fact even stereo is a bit of a waste: how wide an image
- can you believe when the picture is only 50cm across. Most of the time
- stereo isn't noticeably better than mono. Except of course on tapes,
- where hi-fi stereo is sooo much better than the linear mono track.
-
- As an interesting experiment, put your tv outside your speakers (ie to the
- left of the left one, or v-v, sit well back and watch. Where does the
- sound seem to come from? I find I have to close my eyes and concentrate to get
- the image back where it belongs.
- Cheers,
