- No evidence, but Bourke's Back Yard had a bit on this some months ago:
- showed some trees with bulges at the base where the bark had been damaged
- and said it was quite possible to kill a tree this way. I've seen
- people use round-up on the grass around trees, but I don't think that's
- a good idea either, since the chemicals in roundup are getting some
- serious scrutiny these days.
