- Problem with a "jump" system is duration of flight. The systems that
- have been produced and tested (someone demonstrated one to President Kennedy)
- are not that good, because the can only be used for REALLY short jumps - like
- 30 seconds or maybe a minute. And with the extra weight of combat armor the
- flight time would be reduced. Have to work on it.

- Not so. Have you ever seen the T-Rex car crusher? It is on the order
- of the size of a Battlemech and is powered by one or two diesel engines. They
- use it to crush cars at auto sporting events. Actually making a Battlemech
- would be EASIER than constructing a human sized combat armor powered suit. Of
- course the expense would be great and its utility as a weapon of war would be
- limited, because it is such a big target.
