  19. Have you read *Vampires, Burial, and Death: Folklore and Reality* by
  20. Paul Barber? For the most part, he explains the folkloric revenant evidence
  21. to be a natural occurrence of the putrefaction of a corpse.
  22. Many pre-conceived ideas of vampires will lose most of their zing after
  23. reading this book. There is a wonderful bibliography at the end, but be
  24. prepared: half of the references are in German. The folkloric revenant
  25. and the fictional revenant are two different topics altogether.

  27. There are those who seek immortality. If someone *is* immortal, s/he 
  28. probably won't tell you.

  30. There are people who like to drink blood, sleep in coffins, and are really
  31. into the Un-Dead aesthetic. But are they really Un-Dead? I doubt it.
  32. It's something to do, and it makes for great sex. That's what they say. :)

  34. The original Lord of the Un-Dead is Odhinn, for he is called
  35. "draugadro'ttinn" in Old Norse from a 13th century saga.
