  11. I got a chance to see some Simpsons in Japanese... from the 1st season. 
  12. Like in Germany (from what I hear), Bart calls Homer dad instead of 
  13. "Homer", although he uses "oyaji" which translates closer to "pop" rather 
  14. than "dad" or "father" (ie, must more informal). The male voies are quite 
  15. good and similar to the originals EXCEPT Flanders, whos Japanese voice is 
  16. gruff and low... the complete opposite of the originals. Bart, Homer, and 
  17. Krusty all have good voices. 
  18.   The FEMALES on the other hand... well, Marge is certainly different, 
  19. but she DOES have a "strange" voice, and it's not bad. My biggest bone to 
  20. pick is with the voice of Lisa... in the original, Lisa is the smart one, 
  21. the most mature. Yet, they give her a sweet, cutesy high-pitched voice.  
  22. Doesn't gel well.
  23.   the translation is pretty good, and while they don't subtitle the 
  24. chalkboard openings, they do subtitle things in the show that need it 
  25. (such as the sign from COD PLATTER to COLD PET RAT, they'll subtitle 
  26. right under it).
