- Simply stated, they are no longer engaged, just marginal friends. In "Goodbye
- to All That," the episode that began the second replacement season (Spring
- '91), Joel gets a 3 month old letter (infamous "frostbite" letter) just
- before his trip back to NY from Elaine telling him that she has found someone
- else-- an old retired judge (this, BTW, IMHO, is the greatest NX episode of
- all time). In the middle of the third season, 91-92, Joel gets an unexpected
- visit from Elaine in the episode "Roots." As it has turned out, the jugde
- bought the farm and a confused Elaine goes to the best friend she has for
- emotional support-- Joel. In the episode, they end up sleeping together but
- realize that they are longer in love. The relation ship, thus the Elaine
- character is done with.

- She physically appeared in "Russian Flu" and "Roots." Her voice was in
- "Goodbye to All That."

-
- She doesn't exactly get lost in scenes, you always do know where she is... off
- the top of my head, she had a regular role on "Baby Talk" and recently
- appeared in "Seinfeld" as a comics worst nightmare-- a gorgeous woman with an
- unbearable laugh. She has been in many other things, I just can't think of
- any of them.
