- This is true! To "clarify" my position, this is what I said in a piece of
- email to someone else:
-
- I don't think the omission of mention is such a sin
- as you may think. After all, the "This is MST3K" special was geared toward
- the newer viewers, who never saw Josh and are probably having a hard enough
- time figuring out this great, silly show as it is. And I think it's a
- general trend (though not everyone is this way) that newer viewers prefer
- Frank (probably due to the mere exposure effect--they see him more). Since
- Josh isn't coming back, and the target audience of "This is MST3K" would
- generally prefer Frank, I'm not surprised that they didn't mention Josh.
- I don't think it's some evil conspiracy that they didn't, either. Yes,
- perhaps they should have given him a mention as one of the creators, but
- I'm sure there was plenty of stuff they wanted to include but couldn't for
- time reasons. Again, I don't think it was such a big deal.
-
- [end of excerpt]
-
- You're right, though, in that the
- "older" viewers (as opposed to newer) would have liked to have seen something
- on Josh. But I refuse to go along with the huge "conspiracy theory." I
- prefer to think of it as moving on to better things, not dwelling in the past
- ...
-
- But I prefer Frank anyway, as I'm sure you can all figure out. :)
