  21.    This file saver is a part of the libraries supplied with DevGuide. In fact Sun gives the
  22.    source code of it along with the DevGuide software.  If you can get DevGuide, then you
  23.    can get the source code and manuals explaining these functions.
  24.    In my communication with some Sun people on net, only reason that FileChooser,
  25.    ColorChooser and other such utlities of DevGuide
  26.    not being with XView 3.0 distribution is that DevGuide people have to design the code
  27.    after XView code has been frozen for distribution. 
  28.    From the nettalk, it seems these DevGuide FileChooser/ColorChooser etc codes will
  29.    be distributed in future XView releases.

  32. as announced in the SunSoft toolkit directions posting,
  33. a future release of XView will contain a File Chooser object.
  34. this is, however, a true XView object and bears little (ok,
  35. i coped a bit of code) relationship to the one currently shipped
  36. in DevGuide.  it implements an all new HI Specification and
  37. has undergone multiple rounds of user testing -- so it has an
  38. all new look and feel.
