- This file saver is a part of the libraries supplied with DevGuide. In fact Sun gives the
- source code of it along with the DevGuide software. If you can get DevGuide, then you
- can get the source code and manuals explaining these functions.
- In my communication with some Sun people on net, only reason that FileChooser,
- ColorChooser and other such utlities of DevGuide
- not being with XView 3.0 distribution is that DevGuide people have to design the code
- after XView code has been frozen for distribution.
- From the nettalk, it seems these DevGuide FileChooser/ColorChooser etc codes will
- be distributed in future XView releases.
-
-
- as announced in the SunSoft toolkit directions posting,
- a future release of XView will contain a File Chooser object.
- this is, however, a true XView object and bears little (ok,
- i coped a bit of code) relationship to the one currently shipped
- in DevGuide. it implements an all new HI Specification and
- has undergone multiple rounds of user testing -- so it has an
- all new look and feel.
