  15. I have a bizzare problem I have not been able to trace for a long time.
  16. I am totally at a loss to explain this.  We are currently using NIS on
  17. a mixture of Unix boxes.  Our NIS Master server is a SparcServer 4/3xx with
  18. SunOS 4.1.3. We have a single NIS Slave server that is a SparcStation IPX 
  19. running SunOS 4.1.1.  Here is the problem, the netgroup, netgroup.byuser and
  20. netgroup.byhost maps will not push to the slave server. All the other maps
  21. work just fine.   The message I get back is that the slave server did not
  22. respond. Does anyone know what might be going on?

  24. If I manually do a ypxfr for the maps from the slave server I get this message:

  26. "Can't get master of netgroup. Reason: no such map in server's domain."

  28. but the map is clearly on the master.  I can ls it, and any machine that is
  29. bound to the master server can do a ypcat netgroup.

  31.     Any help would be appreciated.
