  11. Alas, I too cannot run the "LSD - Jesus on E's" demo properly. In fact, I
  12. haven't had this much trouble with any other recent demos.

  14. What I have: A 68000 A2000, KS 1.3, 2 MB fast, 1 MB chip, A2090a HD, and an
  15.              external Applied Engineering High-Density drive. The Agnus
  16.              defaults to NTSC, but I regularly use BPD or degrader.

  18. Things I've tried:
  19.  
  20. 1) Degrader (50Hz, 50HzSystem, SurviveResets)
  21. 2) Degrader (50Hz, 50HzSystem, SurviveResets), Killsys
  22. 3) Degrader (50Hz, 50HzSystem, rename DF2: to DF1:, SurviveResets)
  23. 4) Degrader (50Hz, 50HzSystem, NoFastMem, HalfMegChip, SurviveResets)
  24. 5) BPD, Killsys

  26. (note: "Killsys" is the button of the same name in "Xcopy III". When that is
  27. selected and Xcopy is quit, the system reboots so hard that I get a Workbench
  28. hand even though I have an autobooting hard drive. It seems to make the hard
  29. drive temporarily disabled. Also, any PAL boot tag in use stays in memory, so
  30. whatever disk I boot with will be in PAL.)

  32. (note 2: the external floppy is DF2: on an A2000.)

  34. All of the above had the following symptoms: I put in disk 1, then disk 2 in
  35. the extra drive as requested. "Loading". It takes for-bloody-ever, with once
  36. in a while the background doing a short rainbow-flash (it does this at least 5
  37. times, each time separated by much disk-gronking). I would say that the entire
  38. disk could have been read at least 4 times in the amount of time the loading
  39. took. Finally, I get some action, with the title, credits, music etc. Graphics
  40. soon follow, but the thing crashes before much can happen. Also, at any time,
  41. including during the load, pressing the joystick fire button shows a status
  42. line in the centre of the screen, showing PP, SP, and some other stuff.

  44. 6) Degrader (50Hz, 50HzSystem, HalfMegChip, SurviveResets), external drive
  45.              unplugged. --> This worked, sort of. Seemed like it wasn't
  46.              performing properly, and (as I recall) the "interference-pattern
  47.              circles" never happened. Also, it would merrily access whatever
  48.              disk I had in the drive, seeming not to care what it was, and
  49.              certainly not loading anything useful off of it. The demo didn't
  50.              crash, but it definitely seemed crippled.
