- As I write this my nose is dripping salt water on my
- keyboard. I had a *great* lunch surf. A storm that
- just passed by us has brought a large (10-12ft face) west
- swell. The sets were 15ft easy. Wind was offshore.
- Best wave was also my big wipeout. A big set wave
- was coming and two surfers had driven me farther into
- the peak than I would have wanted to be. While paddling
- I hooted the the two surfers off (I love to do that), and dropped
- in. I made a big drawn out bottom turn and then pulled
- up under the lip. I was now in the barrel, looking out
- the end, when something happened. The wave either
- closed out big time, or I got sucked up the face (most
- likely). Anyway, it happened very fast and I was hit
- by large quantities of water, that found its way into every
- orifice of my body (lucky only the nose is dripping!)
- I caught several other memorable waves, including
- a very long (50yds) ride. I was right in the pocket and
- didn't have to move a muscle the whole way. I just
- laid on my board and enjoyed the view.
- Well, back to work.

- The Navy and I share some views, but the ones above are all mine.
