  13. Does anyone here object to the word FAT, used to describe an overweight
  14. person?

  16. I remember in the past, options such as CHUBBY, PLUMP, etc. were used in a
  17. vain attempt (usually by thin people) to be less offensive. Didn't work,
  18. in my opinion.

  20. More recently, I've seen ZAFTIG and RUBENESQUE, which are at least more
  21. poetic than the others.
