- The health risks of _living_ accumulate over a lifetime.

- I know you and I are currently taking very different approaches to the
- weight issue. As you've mentioned, you've fasted and are now dieting and
- exercising to bring your weight down. If that works long-term for you,
- great! I am taking a different approach. And part of that approach
- involves learning to accept myself as a large woman, which is why I enjoy
- this group. I'm interested in no longer using food as a crutch, in not
- eating compulsively. But that may or may not have a big impact on my
- weight and size. Right now, for me, that's just not the issue.

- The threat of bad health, however, still isn't going to take the pounds
- off permanently in someone who is eating compulsively for emotional
- reasons. In posting what I did, I was basically crowing a bit and
- expressing my happiness that I didn't have high blood pressure. I think
- that's wonderful, and I'm thrilled.
-
- Am I a walking time bomb because I weigh 200 pounds? Who knows? My
- paternal grandmother weighed that when she died at age 86. My other
- grandmother weighed 90 pounds when she died -- also at age 86.
