- Hmmm....it may be a matter of perspective. *I* look great in brights, black,
- and white, and I'm frequently frustrated with BBW because I see so many muted
- colors, browns and animal prints. (I love animal prints, but I wish leopards
- came in strawberry pink! :-) ) I do think they go overboard most of the time
- with the glitz, though, but that's mostly around holiday time. Again, I think
- BBW's problem is that they're so uneven. What they show varies quite a bit
- from season to season and issue to issue. I agree, though, that I haven't seen
- much lately that I'd wear anywhere in my real life.
-
- You have to remember, though, that that's their perspective. They've always
- said they focused on high fashion for larger women. If you choose to step out
- of that particular rat-race, you may not be interested. However, for a long
- time there hasn't even been a thought of high fashion for large women. I tend
- to think there are a lot of women out there who are into that, and very happy
- to see it in BBW. I suspect that there are a larger number of, hm, alternative
- women on the Net -- women who are in college, sciences, etc. We have a
- different set of needs and tastes than some mainstream women.
-
- In a way, you can look at it poisitively, in that the field of large-size
- clothing is getting big and complicted enough to support different tastes and
- needs, and too big to be covered by one magazine. Unfortunately, we still only
- have one that's basically dedicated to fashion, and that's BBW. So until there
- are many other choices, I try to take it with a grain of salt and use the
- resources and photos, and get my real nourishment from Radiance (and other
- sources like this newsgroup).
-
- You can't really blame a poodle for not being a Labrador retriever.
