This is the first time i've actually read this news thingy, I was quite
surprised to seeing a skinhead section, being a skinhead myself, I was quite
horrified to see most of the news listed under white power. Why is this, as far
as i'm concerned the true skinhead culture is based on working class values, is
based fundamentally on black jamaican music with the later overtones of the
street music, OI! music of the late seventies and early eighties, so why all
the racist bollocks. I know fine that a lot of the crap that goes on is caused
by people with short hair, to my mind these people are not skinheads, possibly
in image, but not in the true spirit, so why even give it space. Possibly in
the realms of god knows where people with short hair are causing probs. where I
come from, and where I go and hang out, all us "short haired types" recieve and
enjoy the respect of everyone we come in contact with. This is because we are
not racists ! This is because we don't try to look the way we do, we just do.
It is those who are racist that come across the big image. Everyday skinhead
Goes about his business, looks cool, not hard, and lives the life, Reggae, OI!,
hardcore, but not racism.
