  34. Look.  I was there when shenanigan was defined.  It has to be funny,
  35. It has to make people say, "Why would anyone go to the trouble?"  And
  36. it has to be clever, like a good practical joke.  Writing in all CAPS
  37. is about as far from a shenanigan as you can get.

  39. Some people dismiss ANDY's posts without thinking about them.  "An all
  40. CAPS post.  Yipee.  Is next."  I took the time to think about it.
  41. "It's on alt.shenanigans, it's probably trying to be funny."  But
  42. that's the problem.  It's not funny.  It's painfully hard to read,
  43. yes.  But funny?  No.

  46. that.  Because it's so easy to write in all caps.  Hit CAPS-LOCK, and
  47. go on.

  49. And it's certainly not very clever.  It's an old joke, if it can even
  50. be called that.  BIFF got to it first, ANDY.  Get a new gimmick.

  52. Now, the post that was rot-13 *every other word*.  Now that was a good
  53. shenanigan.  Weird, Without reason, and reasonably interesting.  I
  54. went through and read it, even though I really didn't care what it
  55. said.  It made me say, "Why?"  Perfect.

  57. I don't care if ANDY writes in all caps or not.  I, like most people,
  58. have trouble or just dislike reading in all caps, so I get through the
  59. first line, then hit 'n'.  I suggest everyone else do likewise.  But
  60. on no account should his posts be added to the list of shenanigans
  61. perpetrated on this group.
