- Well, there does seem to be some historical basis for the Cthulhu
- Mythos, tho I believe HPL knew it and was inspired by these themes (Ktulu
- as a serpent in Sumerian myth, Xastur as lord of sorcerors, etc.). Yet,
- I find Lovecraftian Satanism and Cthulhu-Worship no less valid than the
- worship of a guy who was nailed to a board two thousand years ago. BTW,
- it is still possible to follow Lovecraft's own personal worldview, that the
- creator(s) exist beyond our current scientific knowledge and really could
- care less whether we live or die. It's a cold and harsh belief, but makes
- you really think about making the best of what little time we have on this
- earth.
