- But I never called Sinead a member of the "Religious Right," which is
- what this thread is about. Nor did I ever deny that there are
- extremists on both sides. (As someone said here, extremism begets
- extremism.)

- The whole point of my article was to disagree with you when you said
- "religious = religious right." That simply isn't true. Believe it
- or not, there are religious people who do not want to impose their
- personal beliefs on others. Some are even conservatives.

- Explain what you mean here. I called him "Pat Puke-cannon," as an
- expression of my disgust at his desire to impose his value system
- on everyone else. (And general disgust with the direction taken
- by the Republican party, which is why they lost my vote. Let's hope
- they have the guts to run someone like William Weld in '96.)

- how vile I think they are. And I reserve the right to say how vile I
- think they are. That's called freedom of speech, not "religious war."
