- It's a lot easier for women to say that you shouldn't try too hard---when
- women go out, it's a lot easier for them to get attention than it is for a
- guy. Observe: If a woman sits quietly in a corner, she can get dates, but if
- a guy does the same thing, no dates (unless he gets fortunate enough to be
- approached by an assertive woman).

- please realize that in these modern times, women are understandably
- cautious and maybe a bit nervous of going out with somebody they don't
- know. Date rape, etc is a very sad fact of life and it does make it
- harder for the many men out there that are decent fellows. I myself would
- probably not go up to a stranger and make conversation with the intention
- of asking him out, and I would be hesitant if a stranger asked me out.
-
- Also, in my experience, men are very unsused to having a woman ask them
- out and are generally hesitant about accepting a casual invitation. I
- do realize that there are exceptions, but we women are more passive out
- of wisdom (of course, I consider myself an exception!!! ;> don't we all?)
