- Gee, all this quoting of love songs.....
-
- Here are some things I wrote not too long ago. Those folks among us who
- harbour bitterness might find something to relate to.
-
- "Dancing on the Line"
-
- I want to reach out to you
- And then shove you away
- I want to hold your hand
- And then break your fingers
- I need to hold you in my arms
- With my hands around your throat
- I need to make you see my fear
- Before my soul goes up in smoke
-
- Because there's a thin line between love and hate
- And I'm dancing on the line
- I'm dancing on and around the line
- There's little difference between fantasy and fate
- And I'm dancing on the line
- I'm dancing on and around and over the line
-
- I want to caress your face
- And then make it black and blue
- I want to make love together
- And then force myself upon you
- I know that my feelings
- May sound contradictory
- But somehow I've got to make you feel
- What you've done to me
-
- They say the opposite of love
- Isn't hate, but indifference
- So if it makes you feel any better
- Your visage fills my nights and days
- You make me feel so many ways
- It should come as no surprise that I reveal to you
-
- That there's a thin line between love and hate
- And I'm dancing on the line
- I'm dancing on and around the line
- There's precious little difference between fantasy and fate
- And I'm dancing on the line
- I'm dancing on and around and over the line

- "Sorrow is Noble"
-
- One time long ago, someone said
- There's a reason for everything that you've had
- When you're at your finest, there will always be
- The ones who will try to take it away from me
- How can you appreciate the good without the bad?
-
- Everything worthwhile walks a thin line
- Sorrow is noble, pain is divine
- And words aren't enough to mean everything you say
-
- Drinking alone in my lonely room
- Thinking too much, mind full of doom
- Love seems so futile over a telephone
- Only a cyborg, only a clone
- Of what I really need, ripened to bloom
-
- From the Creator I watch for a sign
- Sorrow is noble, pain is divine
- And perfection is only a heartbeat away
-
- Every word I write relays
- All the overused cliches
- But I wonder why they're overused
- Maybe there is no better word
- For a touch that is never heard
- Is the eternal flame the one the blows the fuse?
-
- In the classical arts, the critics revere
- The honour of pain, the supernatural tear
- The tragic hero who will suffer the fall
- Will hold love immortal if he lives through it all
- What sort of reward when you relive it year after year?
-
- And if I'm caught in the insurrection
- I'll die a martyr of your affection
- And if the love ever dies, let's just let it decay
- For everything worthwhile walks a thin line
- Sorrow is noble, pain is divine
- And perfection is always a heartbeat away
- From the Creator I watch for a sign
- Emotion is noble, love is divine
- But words aren't enough to mean everything you say
-
- After all this time I guess I'll let it die
- I guess I just can't say goodbye
- If that's not good enough, what can I say?
- Everything worthwhile walks a thin line
- Sorrow is noble, pain is divine
- And everything you love will wander away....
