- Get the women and children into the lifeboats, use the Marconi to
- signal for help---oops. No. Wait. That's for a sinking ship,
- isn't it?
-
- Just kidding.
-
- Seriously: I would say that the direct and honest approach would
- be best, though NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, it's probably gonna be
- messy---a specific and definite date would help prevent the soured
- relationship from dragging on, slowly decaying like a dead trout
- on the beach of a poisoned lake, getting more and more intolerable
- with each day. Regarding preparations for the imminent breakup:
- Again, honesty and directness. State your case in plain language
- and tell your S.O. exactly WHY you are ending the relationship,
- and by when; if you are truly serious about calling a halt to
- the whole thing, then tell her flat-out that because of such-
- and-so reasons, you are throwing the key into the waterbucket and
- calling it quits.
-
- If you have to do this, then I wish you good luck....
