  20. I can't think of any way you can tell, but it might help to realize 
  21. that not everyone has the same level of honesty and character that you 
  22. do.  Some people are simply not broad-minded enough to avoid using such a 
  23. line.  Once you realize this, and are faced with this situation
  24. again (or ones similar to it), you can easily accept it as further 
  25. proof that people with a lack of character still exist. 
  26. Just revel in the fact that you are above such ignorance.  8-)
