  33. I think that it's time I mentioned a rumour that I heard way back when.
  34. It seems that the Beatles and the WHO, were more collaborative than
  35. competitive!  They had toured together and I think became friends.  Well
  36. the story goes that the second side of Abbey Road, where the songs all
  37. segue into each other and are quite short, happened to be the overture
  38. for a rock opera that the Beatles intended to release during problems
  39. with the bands stability.  Rumor alert********  I heard that the Beatles
  40. agreed not to release their album because Tommy was due out, and so they
  41. held the beatle rock opera, but later put the overture on abbey road!

  43. The Who also had another one, or at least pete townshend 
  44. did called, 'Life house'  Sounded cool, most of it ended up on the "Who
  45. came first" album.

  49. It's detail reminded me of the Beatles by Hunter Davies....  good stuff.
