- Ooooh! Ooooh! Me! Me! Meeeeee! :-* <--anal retentive smiley
-
- O.K. here we go. I haven't phoned the local Org yet, so I don't know
- the "exact" ( note the quotes ;-) ) numbers. But I feel that my
- value of 500,000 PC's, in the past ten years, is a valid guess.
- (In fact I will be a bit more conservative!)
-
- [NB: pay close attention to the disclaimers, Jonathon has said
- that the information he gave us was out-of-date]
-
- Lets look at my "handy AOLA envelope", see a previous post,
- and that good old TIME(SLIME to Scn'ers) article for more
- detials. Lets first look at that ten percent of PC's who actually
- climb up that bridge(see a previous post with the estimation that
- there are 50,000 cases, actually let's be conservative! Say 10,000
- successful cases(remember that Jonathon admitted that he was posting
- out-of date information in his FAQ, but shee-it!, that's never stopped
- me b'fore! ;-) ).
-
- From the TIME article:
- Personality test: FREE!
- Auditing(12.5hrs*$500/hr) $6250.00
- Say 3 communications courses 3*$250.00= $ 750.00
- Clear Certainty Rundown $2800.00
- NEW! O.T. I (from AOLA) $2200.00
- O.T. II (from AOLA) $4300.00
- O.T. III (from AOLA) $7300.00
- O.T. IV (ditto) $6600.00
- O.T. V-VII (TIME) $25600.00
- Case Check (AOLA )-gotta have one! $ 625.00
- Purification Rundown for the brave! $2250.00
- Hubbard(R) Key to Life Course (AOLA) $8750.00
- OT Doctorate (only for the succesful! $4500.00
- --------------------------------------------------
- Total: per successful case. only(!):$71925.00
-
- O.K. so we now have(roughly) $71925.00/successful scientologist.
-
- now lets look at the 90% who say "this is crazy!", lets say that
- this 90% quits, on average, at the halfway mark, some quit early
- some quit later, but *on average* they quit after paying $71925/2
- =35962.50. Lets be conservative, and give the unsuccessful PC
- a bit more brains and round down, so *on average* the unsuccessful
- PC quits after paying $30000.00.
-
- What have we got?
-
- Scn income for the past ten years = ?
- = 100,000 unsuccessful PCs' * $30,000.00 /unsuccessful PC
- + 10,000 successful Scns' * $71,925.00 /successful Scn
- = $3.596*10^9 from unsuccessful PCs' + $7.19*10^8 from successful Scns'
- = $4.32*10^9 in the past ten years where the Scn claims (see
- disclaimers) "tens of thousands" of success stories.
-
- Now, how much per org per year?
-
- $4.32*10^9 / 450 Orgs / 10 years = $959,000.00 /Org/year
-
- Wow! And that's a *very* conservative estimate!
-
- What about my earlier guess of 50,000 successes and 500,000 failures
- (failures in a manner of speaking of course!). Well... just
- multiply the above number by five!
-
- 5 * $959,000.00 /Org/Year = 4,795,000 /Org/year.
-
- note that this assumes only NINE succesful scientologists /Org/month,
- and 90 unsuccessfull scientologists.
-
- [deleted: more stuff!]

- the TIME(SLIME) article reffered to is:
