  13. Yikes.  I wasn't flaming Sho for his criticism of House of Euphoria.
  14. My 'what did you want to do, shoot up heroin in front of everybody
  15. and run around naked' was just a way of asking why he felt so
  16. oppressed by the cops, who didn't seem to be doing much of anything.
  17. I didn't see any of the 'nasty girl' goings-on but we got there
  18. kind of late.

  20. When everybody was jumping up on stage, the ravers were kind of being
  21. obnoxious... follow the leader type of thing.  If I were
  22. renting those lights and music hall I wouldn't want a mob of people
  23. tromping all over the cords and exceeding the weight capacity of the
  24. stage.  That was why they were 'rushing up to the stage as if to
  25. prevent a riot'; the reason the power went out to all the front amps
  26. during Moby's set was because someone tripped on a power cable.  And
  27. I was right there by the stage; the cops didn't do ANYTHING until the
  28. rave security motioned for them to help clear people off.  It didn't
  29. put that much of a damper on things, anyway.

  31. I think you guys have really built up this romanticized image of what
  32. a "REAL RAVE" is supposed to be like and you are going to be
  33. disappointed by everything that doesn't live up to this 'secret
  34. intimate love-sex-drugs hippie dance fest' ideal.  I'm not saying that
  35. cops all around made it better, but considering that they were there,
  36. it seemed like a damn good time was had by most everyone else, and like
  37. I said before, it was obvious that a lot of people were tripping and
  38. there was some pot smoking along the walls too, and the cops and security
  39. turned a blind eye to that, which is far better than what one would have
  40. expected.  Really, this whole 'big brother' thing is a bit far-fetched.
  41. If it was that bad, it would have ended up like Grave.  If it was all too
  42. above-ground for you, throw your own rave.  Doesn't somebody on alt.rave
  43. have a .sig that goes 'how many ravers does it take to change a light
  44. bulb? a hundred, one to change the light bulb and 99 to whine about how
  45. much better the last one was'.  Well, imHo we are lucky to have what we
  46. got and since it was good and fun for 99% of the people there, why bitch
  47. about how it wasn't the way you think a REAL RAVE is supposed to be like?
  48. Sure, it wasn't a step forward for raves, but it sure as hell was better
  49. than sitting on my ass in Columbus all night.
