  25. Personally, I would rather have it all legal than get arrested and
  26. fined like the poor kids at Grave last month.  I don't see what the
  27. big thrill is in taking one's chances... I mean, if I'm going to
  28. drive 2 hours to arrive just as the party is shut down for illegal
  29. assembly of (how many people were there? about 2,000 is my guesstimate)
  30. with no permits or someone smoking a joint or whatever, I'd rather
  31. not go.  Who cares if it wasn't your idea of an 'authentic' rave?
  32. I'd say it was the best rave Ohio has ever seen, the lights and
  33. atmosphere (people-wise) were fantastic, the dj's were great, the
  34. Moby show was incredible despite his tantrum and the fact that he
  35. wasn't really playing live, and everyone seemed to be having a super time.
  36. So what if it was in the downtown music hall with cops at the doors?

  43. What were you planning on doing, shooting up heroin and running around
  44. naked?  Didn't you see how many people were tripping, jogging around,
  45. hugging each other?  Did the cops do anything to spoil any of that?
  46. All they did was move people off the stage, and that was only after
  47. they were asked to by the rave's own security.  I smelled pot at one
  48. point.  The cops just stood around, and one was even bobbing his head
  49. to the music.  They seemed to be enjoying the lights and laser, and
  50. probably felt relieved that for once in their careers they got to patrol
  51. a huge party without having to bust it up for alcohol-related fights,
  52. sexual assaults, etc.
