- Its probably worth mentioning here that 'House' music in its original form is
- an american invention. It even got its name from the club where the style was
- originally played/devised (The Warehouse, sadly no longer with us), in the
- same way that 'Garage' got its label from its club (The Paradise Garage).
- And what makes you think that they've not 'kept up'? The US alt.ravers
- represent one (tiny) facaet of the US american scene, who by nature are
- interested in rave. Frankie Knuckles (arguably the best house/garage DJ in the
- world) plays regular 8 hour sets at the Roxy (in NYC - I think!). He _doesn't_
- play 'rave'. If you look with open eyes, you'll find that the US dance music
- scene is just bigger. On alt.rave we see only a part of it.

- Damn. Last time that'll be heard in a club then. :)

-
- Actually, it's by 'Aly-US', and if you check out the current edition of DJ
- Magazine, then on the cover is a rather classy DJ Mastermix tape, by DJ Pierre
- (Strictly Rhythm). And on that tape, is a mix of Follow me, as well as numerous
- other tunes from the label.
-
- A: Cynthia M - Everything I do
- Mark Davis - Special
- Underground Solution - Luv Dancin
- Logic - The Warning
- Photon Inc - Generate Power
- Phuture - Rise from your grave
- CLS - Can you feel it? (start)
-
- B: CLS - Can you feel it? (cont)
- Simone - My Family depends on me
- Endangered species - Ping Pong
- Aly-US - Follow me
- Djaimen - Give you (top choon!)
- SR-1 - The Rhythm (only a snippet of this)
-
- IMHO, a well sorted tape of (hardish)house/garage tunes, superbly mixed
- and well worth the 1.95 cover price of the magazine. There are also good
- interviews with Jeremy-'Everything starts with an E-zee-posse'-Healy, the Rebel
- MC, above-metioned DJ Pierre, and a 'day-in-the life' at Eastern Block records
- in Manchester. Check it out if you get a chance.
-
- Keep the faith,
-
- Chris.
