  14.     Did anyone read the article about the Lenchmob in this months
  15. SOURCE mag?  In an interview they talk about a song which the record
  16. company made them cut out called "Pin The Tail on The Honky".  They
  17. were gonna call the entire album that, too.  But they had to settle for
  18. it to be released as a b-side to a single.

  20.     I dont care what anyones feeling are towards the song or its title,
  21. that is a form of censorship, which we are beginning to see more and more
  22. of since "Cop Killer" (Body Count).  Freedom of Speech, juss watch what
  23. you say, I guess, huh?

  25.     A similar incedent was what pushed Ice Cube's new album back
  26. from Election day to last Tuesday.  The song "You Aint Gonna Take My Life"
  27. (with the En-Vogue-LIKE sample of "no you're never gonna get it...") was
  28. cut out of "The Predator" because of strong cop killin themes.  Its now
  29. available as the b-side to the "Wicked" single.

  31.     But what the fuck?  Rap is definately under attack.  And now with
  32. Clinton, Gore, and Tipper in there...forget about it!  I guess Bush being
  33. out is better for the country, and music is less important than the 
  34. state of our homeland, but that doesnt mean we should have to compromise!
  35. Clinton will hopefully fix this country and Gore will help him.  But what
  36. is Tipper gonna do?  The same thing she always has been...look at Nancy
  37. Reagan.  Before she ever became miss-pressy, she started the "juss say
  38. no" campaign.  After she got power EVERYONE heard about it.  Something
  39. like the ALCU by Tipper Gore which most people have already heard about
  40. will juss be unleashed come next year!

  42.     And why is it that "they" dont see this as a censorship issue???
  43. WHY?  That makes no sense.

  45.     So what should we do?  How can we save rap?  People who listen to
  46. hip-hop have to let this country know that we are opposed to this censorship.

  51. SAID ANYTHING BACK AT THE SAME LEVEL, THEY'LL GO AHEAD AND BAN ABORTION.
  52. BUT IF THEY KNOW THAT THERE ARE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE
  53. WHO WILL BE VEEEERY ANGRY ABOUT IT, THEY MIGHT THINK TWICE ABOUT IT."

  55.     Letting people know there are millions of us out here is the key.
  56. We can talk about how much we're bein oppressed on alt.rap all we want to,
  57. it make a fuckin difference.
