- The movie drops here in Chicago on Wednesday. I saw on the news how the NAAWP
- wants to try to ban this movie because of the potential violence. In my
- opinion, the only reason why a group like the NAAWP would want to ban a movie
- about Malcolm X is because they feel that Black folk are gonna get mad as hell
- when we see how the "devils" treated Malcolm and his family... they may be
- worried that we are going to go on a seek-and-destroy mission. I guess they'd
- be more comfortable if Spike Lee were doing "Driving Miss Daisy II" or some-
- thing like that.
-
- I also heard that the Nation of Islam aren't too thrilled with this movie, be-
- cause it doesn't focus enough attention on Malcolm after his visit to the
- Mecca. Any info on this? Louis Farrakhan was treated to a private screening,
- but I haven't heard anything since.
